Progress Report On Michelle In Puerto Rico
As some of you may know, Michelle has been in Puerto Rico with her mother on her mothers’ farm in the rain forest since September 11. Michelle went down after Hurricane Irma to help clear some trees and was there when Hurricane Maria hit the island on the 20th. We had no communication from Michelle for ten days after Maria, although we had heard through third parties that she and her family were 'OK'. This week we have had brief phone calls and even a few photos as Michelle and her family gets back up on their feet. It sounds like most of the animals on the farm survived but part of her mothers' roof was torn off. No electricity yet, no internet, and they bathe in the nearby river. The foliage looks stripped bare and it is unclear what it will take to recover. Elena has started a 'You Caring' page to raise funds to assist Michelle's mother (Magda Albandoz) with some essential repairs. Check out the page and donate if you can.

Michelle will not be in Chicago for the opening on October 13, she is scheduled to return on the 25th. She did leave me with some of her new works on paper and the gallery still has a few wood pieces on the walls. We will keep you posted on Michelle and her families' progress as they move forward. Thank You.
