New Michelle Peterson Albandoz Work in the Gallery

Michelle brought a few pieces back from her recent trip to Washington DC. There are three beautiful and varied piece in the gallery now.

This first two panel piece is made from old window framing.

This second piece evokes water, and can be hung in a multiple of configurations. Very difficult to get the color spot on in these photos, but note the subtle variations in the colors of the wood.

Michelle Peterson Albandoz - Small Square Study - Wood - 24x24x3 inches

This last smaller piece is from a series of studies Michelle made last year at this time. The playfully casual feel to this two foot panel makes it uniqe.

Tricia Rumbolz - Focal Points

We have sold half of the Tricia Rubolz 'Focal Point' series, but the three remaining make a compelling triptych. This week I turned them horizontally, they can show in either orientation, and they feel slightly transformed. Tricia's precision and focus are evident throughout the drawings, and her craftsmanship extends to her hand made frames.

Michael McGuire Found a Box of Old Drawings

To Quote From Michael's Blog

'Some Old Drawings....

....unearthed as I continue to resettle my apartment after new windows and a major paint job. Found them all in a rather distressed cardboard box - many circa 2008/2009. Quickly photographed on the floor of the studio, note the yardstick for scale.'

A small sampling of the forty or so that are in the gallery now.

Michelle in New York (Brooklyn)

Michelle is on a road trip this week. She and Elena drove a carload of precut wood pieces to the location of a new J. Crew store in Brooklyn, where it would be assembled on the wall. They of course made and adventure out of it, driving overnight, seeing musicals, and non-stop food and fun. But assembly time came late this week and the results look sensational. I hear they like it so much they want a second wall! Come home to us safe, the dogs miss you both, and we cannot wait to see some new amazing art.

Michael McGuire Tower

Michael has been staining his watercolor paper with some amazing results. And he then draws on top of the colored paper, usually something architectural. The rational holding back the chaos?

Tricia Rumbolz - Yantra #7

This week Tricia Rumbolz brought into the gallery the last piece from an 2012 series of what she called 'Yantras'.  I think a paragraph from her artists statement is appropriate to this piece.

"The production process is often tedious and time-consuming, requiring a sustained level of concentration.  I focus my attention on the details of the project, trusting that over time a sense of wholeness will emerge. This, along with the use of repetition, enables residual anomalies to have a noticeable impact on the final composition, which interests me because it mimics a basic quality found in nature"
