FOUND - New Work Based On Found Materials

We are installing a new show next week based upon the found materials collected over this past summer. Michelle writes: "LAND FILL - This show is about using materials that have been discarded. One less thing tossed into the trash heap that has become our landscape."

Join us of an opening cocktail party on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 6 to 9pm. We are hoping to fill the gallery with thought provoking objects that reflect out interest in reusing found and discarded materials.

Andersonville Arts Weekend - Opening Night, Friday, October 9,2015

Las Manos will be participating in the 13th annual Andersonville Arts Weekend, October 9,10 and 11. Please join us for an opening reception/party on Friday, October 9 to celebrate the kick off. All of Andersonville will be hosting artists throughout the weekend and Friday night is 'The Night of a Thousand Parties', where most business showcase an artist and put on a little party. At Las Manos Michelle promises a new series of recycled wood pieces, and maybe an installation. Brian Schutz continues his exploration of abstracted architectural models, now encompassing darker tones into his paper and frames. Michael is working on a series of 12 x 18 inch panels in black and white, and will do some crazy installation out of those. The gallery will look amazing and the back courtyard is still very green, perfect place for a cocktail. Scout, around the corner, is planning to have two very talented artists, and they always put on a good party, so there are two fun events to get your evening started.  Did I mention how many new restaurants have opened in the neighborhood this summer? Hope you can make it to Andersonville and Las Manos on Friday, October 9. See you at 7pm.

Tricia Rumbolz - Focal Points

We have sold half of the Tricia Rubolz 'Focal Point' series, but the three remaining make a compelling triptych. This week I turned them horizontally, they can show in either orientation, and they feel slightly transformed. Tricia's precision and focus are evident throughout the drawings, and her craftsmanship extends to her hand made frames.

Michelle in New York (Brooklyn)

Michelle is on a road trip this week. She and Elena drove a carload of precut wood pieces to the location of a new J. Crew store in Brooklyn, where it would be assembled on the wall. They of course made and adventure out of it, driving overnight, seeing musicals, and non-stop food and fun. But assembly time came late this week and the results look sensational. I hear they like it so much they want a second wall! Come home to us safe, the dogs miss you both, and we cannot wait to see some new amazing art.
