Andersonville First Friday - December 1, 2017

Las Manos will be open this coming Friday evening, December 1, 2017, from 5 to 8 pm in conjunction with Andersonville First Friday events. New work from Michelle, Michael, Brian Schutz, and we still have the Jessie Mott drawings in the gallery. Michelle will be here, but she talks about a return trip to Puerto Rico in December to help her mother. This might be a last chance to see her before the Holidays.

Michelle Peterson Albandoz - Works On Paper

Since returning form Puerto Rico Michelle has continued making works on paper as preparation to getting her wood shop up and running again. These 'drawings' vary in color and media but are united as a series both by her sensibility and the the gorgeous heavy weight Arches watercolor paper she is using as the foundation.

Jessie Mott's drawings are here and I can't quite find the words for these wonderful drawings. Part unconscious channeling, part sophisticated art making, they straddle much territory. Distinctly feminist in iconography they harken back to early civilizations and deities. Certainly the words 'menagerie' and 'beastiary' come to mind. We have installed most of the smaller drawings on the wall and have a box of larger drawings too. Come on by to take a look.
